Federal Rescue Service – 112 – is a common emergency number for mobile phone calls in emergencies (a call can be made even without a SIM card, with no money on the account and when the phone keypad is locked).

In order to call the Crisis Management Centre of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Leningrad region and ask for help, dial: +7 (812) 640-21-60.

The helpline of the Chief Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Leningrad region is available 24 hours at telephone number: +7 (812) 579-99-99.

You can also call the Tourist helpline +7 (812) 300 33 33 or using short number 0333 (from cell phone), 24 hours a day for an English-speaking hotline. It can provide you with all possibly needed information from the opening hours of the local supermarket to what to do if you’ve just landed in the drunk tank.

There are 10 tourist information points within the city with the main one on Sadovaya ul. 14, metro Gostiny Dvor, tel. +7 (812) 242-39-09. Open 10:00 – 19:00. Closed Sun.

  • Kronverkskaya emb. (close to Peter and Paul Fortress), open 10:00 – 19:00.
