The hotel is located in the Admiralteysky district of St. Petersburg near the Fontanka River. Although the Azimut Hotel St. Petersburg is some distance from the Hermitage and the other major visitor attractions around NevskyProspekt, it is within walking distance of the world-famous Mariinsky Theatre of Opera and Ballet, which is around 20 minutes’ walk away. On the way to the theatre, guests pass two historic churches: the Estonian Orthodox Church of Ss. Isidor and Nicholas and the glorious baroque St. Nicholas Naval Cathedral. Another of St. Petersburg’s most impressive churches, the Trinity Cathedral, is only five minutes’ walk from the hotel.

The Hotel Sovietskaya was well known to travelers to the USSR as the main Intourist hotel in St. Petersburg. The tallest building in the historic center, it towers above its surroundings on the banks of the Fontanka River, with superb views from the higher floors. Since being taken over by the Russian-owned Azimut chain in 2005, the Sovietskaya has undergone major renovation, and only the hotel’s monolithic exterior offers a taste of its Soviet past. The rest of the hotel has been refitted to international 3-star standards, with sleek contemporary room designs and stylish modern furnishings.

NOTE According to the Russian Federation migration law concerning registration procedure of foreign citizens on the territory of Russian Federation hotels take all responsibilities for fulfilling this statement; that’s why hotels take registration fee (about 4-5 EUR per person) that is to be paid by the guest directly to the hotel reception desk upon arrival.

Cancellation Policy

For cancellations received before March 3, 2020 the sum of payment will be refunded completely (minus banking costs).
For cancellation received after March 3, 2020 till March 13, 2020 – the cost of 1 night stay is charged.
For cancellation received after March 13, 2020 or “no show” – the cost of the your stay will be deducted.

The whole period of your stay in the hotel should be fully paid in advance before March 3, 2020 in order to guarantee accommodation.
