Prices

  • Whole week (28.04 – 03.05, Spring School and Fling / Fringe weekend): 140 EUR (RSCDS members) / 150 EUR (non RSCDS members)
  • Weekeend only (01.05 – 03:05, Spring Fling / Fringe weekend): 110 EUR (RSCDS members) / 120 EUR (non RSCDS members)
  • Evening ceilidh on 03.05: 12 EUR (paid separately via personal account)
  • Single SCD / LS / CB class: 23 EUR each
  • Evening events (ball or social): 20 EUR each
  • Comptetitive highland dancing classes on 03.05 (4 hours): 4000 RUB (paid separately)

We suggest to follow the same SCD class selection rules as for RSCDS Summer School:

  • Intermediate classes are focused on technical aspects, phrasing, accurate movements, step transition and teamwork. These classes demand knowledge of basic figures and steps (such as skip-change of step, slip step, pas-de-basque, strathspey travelling & setting).
  • Advanced level requires confidence in dancing Allemande, Pousette, Grand Chain, Reels of 3, Double triangles, Corner chain, Crown triangles.
  • Very Advanced level (Spring Fling only) is chosen by experienced dancers with a high level of technique, developed sense of rhythm, good understanding of cribs and diagrams. The dancers are expected to be familiar with such figures as the Rondel, Strathspey Poussette, The Targe, The Tournée, The Espagnole, En rond, The Spoke, The Knot, The Spurtle.

Visa support

Will be provided on the basis of accommodation. Effective October 1, 2019 the citizens of certain countries will be able to use the simplified visa procedure for visiting St. Petersburg.  See visa support page for more information.

Terms & Conditions

  1. Filming/photography might take place during the event for promotional and archival purposes. The photographs and recordings made may appear on our website, social media platforms or other publications. 
  2. All the classes are provided in English. We will not be able to provide the translation to any other language.
  3. Event organizers reserve the right to request you relocate to a more suitable class.
  4. In the unlikely case of unforeseen events, e.g. an illness, event organizers reserve the right to replace teachers and/or musicians and change the schedule.
  5. Additional restrictions apply for participants under the age of 18. Please contact us for more details.
  6. Participants are responsible and liable for themselves, their property, and any damage caused to the venue. They participate at their own risk and organizers are exempt from any liability.

Frequently asked questions

  1. My wife / husband / friend / partner would like to come with me. Does he / she needs to register as well?
    If the said person is willing to attend the classes or evening events, then he / she should register and pay for the corresponding tickets. Otherwise you could simply book double room from your own account and submit two separate requests for visa invitations (if needed).
  2. We are arriving earlier / want to stay longer for sightseeing, etc. Is it possible to reserve the room outside the guaranteed reservation period?
    In general – yes, subject to availability. Please contact our event organizing partner at la@makongress.ru for reservation.
  3. My wife / husband / friend / partner would like to come with me. Can we have joint registration?
    Sadly, no. Each person needs to be registered separately for accounting purposes.

Cancellation policy

Should you have to cancel, you’ll get a full refund until the end of December. Cancellations in January will get a 50% refund. No refunds will be possible for cancellations further on, unless we are completely booked out and can replace you with someone from the waiting list. In any case, please note that a small fee may be retained from cancellation refunds (non refundable credit card fees). Please contact our event organizing partner at la@makongress.ru for further steps.
